We would like to offer you and your school a short course to help you improve

parental communication and engagement.  

As a teacher, you can relate to the disparity of educational measures between the performance of minority students and their peers. 


The Achievement Gap can be observed in everything from standardized test scores, GPA, dropout rates, college enrollment and socioeconomic standing.

 

According to the American Psychological Association, different levels and types of parent involvement can lead to varying outcomes for students. The National PTA says that three key parent behaviors are the most accurate predictors of student achievement:

  • Creating a home environment that encourages learning

  • Communicating high, yet reasonable, expectations for achievement

  • Staying involved in a child's education at school 

Other positive outcomes of family engagement in schools include: decreased disciplinary issues, improved parent-teacher and teacher-student relationships, and improved school environment.

 

But how do we bring non-English Speaking parents into the classrooms?  That's simple. By helping them speak English.
