Why #iShareLingo

by Jordan A. Parry

Did you know that ShareLingo has new classes starting EVERY week?

Did you know that placement in the correct ShareLingo level is extremely easy (and can even be done by phone)?

Did you know that ShareLingo is the ONLY reliable way to make sure you get to actually practice your Spanish with a real native speaker in a low-pressure, immersion-style setting?

Did you know that ShareLingo is just like having a private tutor, but for a FRACTION of the cost?

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Jordan, and, as of this week, I’ve only been with the ShareLingo team for a month.  But it hasn’t taken me long to realize that this is the only practical way to learn a foreign language.  I’m hooked!

We have all taken traditional classes or used programs like Rosetta Stone or Pimsleur.  I have nothing bad to say about those methods–in fact, I use them myself!  But the big part that’s missing is the conversation practice.  You can write grammar rules and verb conjugations in a notebook until you are blue in the face, but the only way to truly improve is to practice your speaking with actual native speakers who can make minor (or major) corrections to your pronunciation and usage.

We all know this, intuitively.  That’s why so many of us have it on our Bucket List that we want to experience living abroad.  Because we know that immersion is the only real teacher of language and culture.

Luckily, ShareLingo can save you the cost of the plane ticket by “immersing” you into the language and culture, right here in Denver!  By meeting up with several native speakers of Spanish every week, you’ll not only get to truly improve your language skills, but you’ll bridge cultural gaps by learning side-by-side with several people from all over the world.

That’s what we’re doing: breaking down cultural barriers by showing you how to use immersion to teach each other your own language.  And you don’t have to be a pro at English grammar rules to be an active participant in ShareLingo–that’s what your trained bilingual facilitator is for!
