Samuels ShareLingo "Graduation" Ceremony

ShareLingo/Samuels Class “Graduation” Ceremony

A Big, Big Thank-You!

The ShareLingo Project would like to thank Samuels Elementary for bringing Hampden South (South East Denver) neighborhood residents together to break cultural barriers through language exchange. Last Friday, May 6th, marked the end of a 10-week ShareLingo class. The class was developed by The ShareLingo Project and funded by Denver Public Schools. The ShareLingo Project is a community engagement program that helps English and Spanish speakers connect with each other. The ShareLingo Project is helping schools succeed and improve parental engagement by connecting teachers and parents to learn from and teach each other English and Spanish while sharing their cultural values.

The class is made up of English and Spanish speakers that are paired together to help each other. English speakers improve their Spanish and Spanish speakers improve their English – all while learning about each other’s culture and background. The project ended with a class of 10 students working together, and students received a certificate of completion.
